About Maddie
Maddie is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Texas. She has a Bachelor of Science in both Psychology and Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University. She also has her Master of Social Work from Louisiana State University. Maddie has experience in a variety of therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family Therapy, and a variety of Play Therapy Theories. Her main play therapy theoretical approach is Child-Centered Play Therapy, Adlerian Play Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy. She is a CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy) Provider.
Maddie has worked in a variety of settings with young children (0-5), adolescents, teens, adults, veterans, groups, and families. Some of the common themes she has experience with are anxiety, depression, PTSD, behavioral issues, aggression, personality disorders, oppositional behaviors, thoughts of self-harm, abuse, domestic violence, and trauma.
Maddie is currently undergoing the process of becoming a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She is under the supervision of Karen Sullivan, LCSW-S, RPT-S.
Maddie strives to create a unique approach with her clients that caters to their individual needs.
